- Short Summary
-
Our organization has been funded for 22 projects under the Horizon Europe program. We are currently preparing proposal for the "HORIZON-CL6-2024-FARM2FORK-01-5 Creating smart and attractive tools to enhance healthy and sustainable food provision, eating and treating of food at home" call, and are seeking project partners.
We are looking for a partner for the role of " Dissemination and Exploitation Activities”. - Full Description
-
Project aims to develop tools and applications that empower citizens to make easy choices for healthy and sustainable food provision, cooking, and processing at home. The key focus areas of the project include the development of tools and applications that can be considered by national policymakers and private actors to either discourage unhealthy and unsustainable choices or encourage them. The project also aims to respect national nutritional policies and advice, ensure food safety, and provide solutions that address food waste and the broader aspects of sustainability. It takes a holistic approach, covering aspects such as delivery, short supply chains, marketing, sustainable packaging, and the reduction of food waste. The project further intends to create a sample plan for Member States and Associated Countries authorities on enhancing the uptake of beneficial tools and applications, considering different socio-economic characteristics of citizens and national laws.
The main problems motivating the initiation of our project are the increasingly unhealthy eating habits, unsustainable food consumption, and the waste and environmental impacts in home food processing practices. The prevalence of fast-food culture and the rise in consumption of processed foods contribute to individuals making uninformed choices regarding healthy and sustainable nutrition. Additionally, the waste generated during home food processing processes leads to food safety concerns and poses a threat to environmental sustainability. To address these issues and provide solutions, we have decided to undertake this project.
