CAGE was founded in 2016, but its executive team has run the business entity Oaktec for more than 20 years, innovating in the engine design.
CAGE’s mission is to provide clean, affordable power to replace diesel generators and transform waste into useful energy.
CAGE has a world class team of R&D engineers with extensive experience in the development of clean power technologies from both a mechanical and control perspective. CAGE two lead engineers headed the TVR car brand sportscar design and engine development team for 20 years designing, developing acclaimed high-performance road and race engines including for Le Mans 24hr and Sebring 12 hr races. They certified the TVR road engines for Euro 3&4 emissions. Under their technical leadership, TVR annual production reached 2500 units in the late 1990’s.
The company has currently 15 people.
According to customers (e.g. Sistema Biobolsa), CAGE is proven to be 20-25% more fuel efficient than the next best product, and more reliable and robust. These products are based on CAGE's intelligent control platforms and gas optimised engines that enable novel combustion strategies to be employed to deliver new standards of reliable performance with minimal emissions.
All software development made by CAGE is important confidential trade secrets of CAGE. This concerns, but is not limited to, the controller system that controls CAGE’s engines.
CAGE has technical expertise, which is not in the public domain, and thus is retained as important IP assets as trade secrets, in the combustion strategies area, control mechanism strategies such as engine start-up and other related areas.
CAGE has a strong customer & partner feedback. On emissions, we have worked with Imperial College London, one of the most respected academic institutions in the UK. They made measurements on HS2 site (where we can claim about this 95% emission reduction), but they also recently tested our generator at CAGE facility with LPG (propane), biogas, DME-LPG blend (DME = Dimethyl Ether).
Sistema Biobolsa, global leader in small anaerobic digesters, tried every possible small biogas generator available on the market, and they came to the conclusion that our generator is 30% more fuel efficient than the next-best engine. They have installed 100,000 AD digesters globally and they have a factory capable of manufacturing 5,000 units per-month in India, where they want to manufacture our smallest generator with up to 1500 units per month capacity.
Both Speedy Hire and Sunbelt, two large equipment hire companies, are interested in our generator for construction sites, for LPG, DME-LPG and H2 capabilities.
CAGE is looking for partners that will bring new business opportunities. CAGE products may be integrated to the following types of systems:
• Agricultural waste to power & heat
• Food waste to power & heat
• Prime power generation on off-grid site (e.g. construction sites)
• Microgrid as backup generator
The main markets of interest are France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, but CAGE is open to other markets to establish commercial relationships. - Advantages and Innovations

CAGE is uniquely positioned on home market, where large brands like 2G, Jenbacher have no generators below 50 kW.
CAGE products present the following unique advantages:
• High efficiency, Optimised combustion for high efficiency & low emissions; design not downgraded from larger generators.
• Affordable, Small biogas engines currently use crude conversions of existing petrol or diesel engines that are not optimised for efficiency and emissions. Most large generator companies like Jenbacher don’t go to the <50kW market.
• Multiple fuels, Cold start & adapt on the fly to large range of gas composition, allowing to move towards net-zero targets with milestones. For instance, starting with LPG first (already 95% emissions reduction vs Diesel) to move to H2 when supply chain economically viable.
• Raw biogas, Run & cold start on raw biogas without purification to biomethane.
• H2 robust & cost effective, No need for pure hydrogen to work & 45-60% cheaper than fuel cells.
• Low emissions, Ultra-low emissions 95% below EU emissions standard V.
• Adapt on the fly to gas variation, successfully ran CAGE generators using waste gas from aerosol recycling facility or blend of DME & LPG / H2 & LPG.
The partnership will bring the following benefits to the partner:

CAGE is looking for system integrators capable to integrate its products into systems, such as:
• biogas to power, integrating it with AD digester or any form of waste-to-biogas system
• landfill gas / waste gas to power
• Prime off-grid power for operations
• Backup power for remote sites
The partner role will be:
• Business development in the targeted market: To sell the product to customers/end users
• Maintenance of the products in operation
• Technical support
• Marketing campaign (jointly with CAGE, to discuss)
The partner must have the following expertise:
• Support and maintenance resource and knowledge of generators (and possibly engines)
• Established business with strong financial position
• Strong presence in one of the generator market or the biogas market
• Technical sales resource
