This UK company operates a refill at home solution for Personal and Household Care (PHC) products. Their solution involves either providing their customers with bulk container and reusable bottles to refill, or they can refill bottles for their customers with doorstep delivery and collection.
The company also operates pilots in India and Vietnam and is looking for suppliers of branded PHC products that wish to implement better solutions and make their products available without plastic waste. - Full Description
-
Personal care and household care products predominantly use single-use plastic and generate large volumes of plastic waste, about 90% of which is buried, burnt or leaks into the oceans.
This UK company operates a refill at home solution for Personal and Household Care (PHC) products. They offer two ways to get product refills. In one, they periodically deliver ready-to-use products in durable containers, each time collecting any empties to wash and refill. In the other, they provide a small bottle to use around the house and a 5L container so a customer can save money and do their own refills whenever they want. Both prevent plastic waste. For personal care they provide refills for body wash, body lotions, hand wash, shampoo, conditioners and hand sanitisers. For household care they provide refills for laundry liquids, fabric conditioners, washing up liquids and much more.
The company believes the opportunities are greater oversees. In India and Vietnam, they are particularly targeting prevention of disposable plastic sachets, which are used for single dose servings of many PHC products and food. Sachets are non-recyclable and a primary cause of flooding and ocean microplastics but often the only way low-income societies can afford these products. Their refill solution was identified and selected by CSIRO as part of an Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network Accelerator program to prevent plastic waste in ASEAN countries.
The company is looking for suppliers of branded PHC products (under a supplier agreement) in India and Vietnam that wish to implement reuse solutions and make their products available without plastic waste.
Also, for any other partners that could bring additional resources, know-how and knowledge of the above-mentioned markets (e.g. companies that can supply inventory and equipment for the operations or local delivery companies). - Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
