General information

Short Summary
A Ukrainian SME plans to launch the production of multifunctional laboratory titrators. These devices are ideal for chemical research groups, increasing the productivity of a chemist and reducing the number of human errors. Before the launch, they would like to make sure compiles with European standards and test the device thoroughly. The SME is looking for investors to start production and partners for joint research, testing, and certification of the device.
Full Description
Chemists still spend their time in laboratories on a mundane routine manual work that could be automated. Such tasks as titration analysis, pH and redox stabilisation, reagent delivery, and reaction monitoring are usually done by hand, slowing the chemist and sometimes due to human error leading to spoiling of the experiment and to losses in time and money.
Out of 12 researchers that they had interviewed 9 spent around 20% of their working time on the manual performance of titration analysis, reagent addition during synthesis or reaction monitoring. For one of them, human error was responsible for more than a week's setback, for 5 of them for more than a day and rest 9 of them for more than a few hours. In one case, such an accident led to the destruction of the laboratory glass.
The heads of laboratories also have the problem of losing money and possibilities by not being able to make certain experiments as some functionality just can’t be achieved manually.
That’s why they’d developed titrator - a multi-functional titrator that’s capable of performing a wide range of tasks to aid in analysis and synthesis and solve the problem of human error. Already during the testing of the prototype in the independent laboratory, their users showed a 25% increase in productivity, and at the current price of 1999 EUR the value of the titrator returns in just 6 months.
To start the production, they search for investments via an investment agreement for 25 thousand euros and even more they need partners for testing, certification, and distribution of the device via a commercial agreement with technical assistance and/or a research and development cooperation agreement.
Advantages and Innovations

Partner Sought

Expected Role of a Partner
The SME is looking for partners and investors who would be interested in joint work on testing, calibration, and international certification of the device and technology, and further joint commercial use of certified devices for the rapid detection of potentially dangerous objects, in particular unexploded ammunition and mines.
The SME is looking for:
- investors who help to start the titrator's production via an investment agreement;
- partners (SMEs, universities, R&D institutions, chemical research groups) who would be interested in testing equipment in a working environment; in calibration, and international certification of the device via a research and development cooperation agreement or a commercial agreement with technical assistance;
- the distributor of chemical equipment in Europe and the rest of the world to help with the requirements and market research.
