General information

Short Summary
Ukrainian SMEs are looking for partners from the EU to jointly develop projects in green/digital transition, circular economy, advanced manufacturing, deep technologies, and low-carbon solutions, local transformations that underpin local climate action, energy and renewable energy, and transforming waste into valuable raw materials for EU industry.
Full Description
Ukrainian SME has been dealing with the problems of converting combustible waste into thermal energy since 2015. In particular, they have developed and implemented in Ukraine a number of installations that are certified in Ukraine.
A gas-generating waste-to-energy boiler is offered for consideration, which allows the processing of potentially environmentally hazardous combustible waste, in particular car tires, and obtaining cheap thermal energy using an environmentally friendly method of thermal gasification.
This boiler operates on combustible household and industrial waste: rubber, leather, textiles, plastic, agricultural, medical, and liquid combustible waste, etc. It can also operate on traditional fuels: firewood, coal, etc. It is possible to equip the boiler with systems for supplying liquid and solid combustible waste, depending on the waste used.
The content of harmful substances in emissions does not exceed the permitted European standards.
The technological capacity of the certified model range: from 40 to 4000 kW.
More information about these installations can be found at the link: TOUA20250707009 - Ukrainian SME offers a waste-to-energy boiler for burning combustible waste using an environmentally friendly thermal gasification method.
The SME proposes to use this equipment or develop a new similar one for the competition tasks in a full-cycle bio- and organic waste as part of the equipment cycle.
The SMEs are currently looking for EU partners to jointly develop projects under the EU programs: Horizon Europe, EIT Regional Innovation Booster 2025 and LIFE-2025-CET-EUCF in the areas of green/digital transition, circular economy, advanced manufacturing, deep technologies and low-carbon solutions, local transformations underpinning local climate action, energy and renewables, and turning waste into valuable raw materials for EU industry.
The SMEs are looking to join EU consortia under the following calls:
• Waste-to-value devices – cyclical production of renewable fuels, chemicals and materials
HORIZON-EIC-2025-PATHFINDERCHALLENGES-01-04
• Combining circularity and climate change mitigation in industrial sites, their cities and regions
HORIZON-CITY-2025-04-CIT-01
• EIT 2025 Regional Innovation Driver – Polish edition. Request for participation in the 1st phase

• Integrated use of renewable energy carriers in industrial facilities (Processes4Planet partnership) (RIA)
HORIZON-CL4-INDUSTRY-2025-01-DOUBLE-TRANSITION-33.
Advantages and Innovations
The Ukrainian SME has many years of experience in the development and implementation of several waste processing equipment.
Regarding equipment, it can be noted:
• Disposal of potentially environmentally hazardous combustible waste
• Obtaining cheap thermal energy
• Environmental protection
• Reducing CO₂ emissions.
• The content of harmful substances in emissions does not exceed permitted European standards.
• Universality to fuel.
• Boilers are certified in Ukraine.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
The Ukrainian SMEs seek to participate in a consortium and collaborate on projects within the framework of Horizon Europe competitions.
According to the terms of the competitions, partners must take into account the technical characteristics of the equipment that has already been developed or provide proposals for new technical parameters.
Example of a technical specification for existing equipment with a capacity of 1 MW:
- efficiency factor - 76-95%
- diameter/volume of the gasification chamber - 1.17 m/2 m³
- supply voltage - 220/380 V
- power consumption - up to 2 kW
- weight - 4000 kg
- dimensions:
height - 2.7 m
width - 2.5 m
length - 2.3 m
The SMEs are looking for clients with experience in implementing projects within the Horizon.

Partner Sought

Expected Role of a Partner
Partners with sufficient experience in participating in Horizon Europe programs are being sought to create new consortia that can be joined in relevant projects, who are ready to take on the development of the necessary equipment to create a closed-loop recycling of organic waste, and the SME would add their experience and equipment to expand the list of waste that will be recycled (for example, worn tires, plastic and other combustible waste that may accumulate in municipal areas and communities).
SMEs are ready to modernize their equipment to meet the requirements of a specific project and prepare their equipment for EU certification.
Preferably, to have an experienced partner to act as a project coordinator.
