A Brussels-based University with large experience in EU R&I projects is preparing a proposal under Horizon Europe, Call "Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply (HORIZON-CL5-2024-D3-02)".
In order to complete the consortium, they are urgently looking for a SME with proven experience in applying machine learning to chemical or energy systems. - Full Description
-
This Brussels-based university - in the top 20 of all participating universities in securing Horizon Europe grants in 2023 and with a total of 205 projects secured by its researchers under Horizon 2020 (2014-2020) - is now preparing a Horizon Europe proposal for the "Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply (HORIZON-CL5-2024-D3-02) Call.
They are leading the consortium working on the above-mentioned call whose related project results are - according to the call - expected to contribute to all of the following outcomes:
- Expand the portfolio of cost-effective advanced biofuel production concepts through energy-driven biorefineries.
- Reduce cost, improve efficiency, support de-risking, to accelerate the availability of competitive and zero-waste advanced biofuel production concepts.
- Contribute to the Mission Innovation 2.0 mission of Integrated Biorefineries.
- Optimize resource efficiency, energy output and total products value from biomass
- Reinforce the European scientific basis and European export potential for renewable fuel production solutions through international collaborations. - Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
-
For optimizing the Thermochemical Liquefaction (TCL) process foreseen in the proposal, the Brussels-based university seeks expertise in AI-driven optimization to address its inherent complexity.
They aim to apply machine learning algorithms such as Support Vector Regression (SVR), Random Forest Regression (RFR), and Gradient Boosting Regression (GBR) to model the non-linear TCL process.
The goal is to enhance prediction accuracy, manage large datasets effectively, and improve overall system efficiency.
A SME partner with experience in applying machine learning to chemical or energy systems is essential for this collaboration.
