British producer of brain imaging and stimulation technologies expands into Poland with help from the Enterprise Europe Network.
Cardiff-based SME Rogue Resolutions Ltd. had developed a strong reputation producing non-invasive brain imaging and stimulation technologies. Their products were used by neuroscientists to conduct groundbreaking research into brain injuries and disorders such as epilepsy and dementia.
Seeking the Network’s help
Aware of the international potential of these life-saving technologies, commercial director Dan Phillips was keen to find distribution partners in Europe.
After hearing about the Enterprise Europe Network's business matchmaking services, Dan turned to his local Network partner BIC Innovation Ltd. based in Bridgend, Wales where Network adviser Lyndon Jones was on hand to help with practical advice and solutions. After learning more about the company's needs, Lyndon was able to send targeted information on this partnership opportunity to geographically-suitable colleagues from over 600 Network offices worldwide that would be attending the Network's Annual Conference.
Before long, Magdalena Zwolinska of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) had identified a promising SME called Neuro Device Group Sp. z o. o, Poland’s first and so far only company that designs, builds and equips neuroscience research labs.
After regular telephone discussions, representatives of both Network offices took the opportunity to meet face to face and compare notes at the Network’s Annual Conference in Lithuania. Satisfied that the match was right, they put the clients in touch with each other. Four months later, both companies agreed to cooperate.
‘Phenomenal’ order
Neuro Device is now distributing Rogue Resolutions equipment in Poland. So far, it has received orders from two research institutes, including one in Warsaw that’s placed the biggest order to date for the U.K. firm. “Thanks to the Enterprise Europe Network, we received an order that is pretty phenomenal,” said Rogue Resolutions marketing manager Steve Oldfield.
Krzysztof Malej, product manager at Neuro Device, is equally thrilled about the new alliance. “We hope that it will be successful not only for us,” he said, “but also for Polish science to do new fascinating research with equipment delivered by us. This cooperation was made possible by the Enterprise Europe Network.”
