Italian and French SMEs take wireless based technology to a new level with help from the Enterprise Europe Network.
Global ambitions
Italian SME Engeenious develops smart wireless-based technologies for both household and industrial use. With a product portfolio ranging from energy-metering devices to state of the art automation software the company clearly had growth potential. Founder Davide Squarise was keen to take his company global.
His first port of call was his local Enterprise Europe Network office - Veneto Innovazione - one of 600 branches of the Enterprise Europe Network helping growth-oriented companies achieve their international ambitions.
Network expert Marco Gorini was ready to help with practical advice and global contacts.
Strategic partnerships
Gorini suggested that the Squarise should establish strategic partnerships with companies abroad who have complementary skills and products. He then immediately reached out to his Network colleagues specialized in the Aeronautics and Space sector to find prospective partners.
"I have colleagues with the same skills as me across Europe who can help me find partners for my clients," Gorini explains.
The French connection
He put the Italian company in touch with Maneli Parsy from BeanAir, a French manufacturer and designer of wireless networks for use in harsh environments, including aerospace applications, and a client of Gordana Adam of the Enterprise Europe Network branch in Paris.
Gorini had met Parsy during an Enterprise Europe Network business matchmaking event for aerospace companies in Toulouse and felt that his company would be a great match for Engeenious. Soon after linking up through the Network, the companies agreed to cooperate. Engeenious intends to use Beanair's technology in its construction projects which will improve their range of products.
Both entrepreneurs have high hopes for the new partnership.
"We look forward to expanding our cooperation with BeanAir, with additional R&D projects and new business opportunities," says Squarise.
