General information
- Short Summary
- Ukrainian company implementing innovative solutions in the field of energy storage and electric vehicle charging
- Full Description
-
A Ukrainian company has developed a modular energy storage and electric vehicle charging system that enables efficient use of night-time electricity tariffs. The core solution is a containerized station based on lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries with a capacity of over 1 GWh and a hybrid inverter with a capacity of 500 kW.
The key idea is to charge the battery at night using lower tariffs, and during the day – supply stored energy for EV charging, thereby reducing grid load and ensuring cost-effective charging infrastructure operation.
The system supports power from three sources: the grid, solar panels (up to 400 kW), and a generator. The container is equipped with fire suppression systems, air conditioning, and has an IP54 protection rating.
Intelligent control allows operation in four modes – prioritizing PV, grid, or autonomous mode. The battery supports up to 6000 cycles at 90% depth of discharge, ensuring long-term efficiency.
The solution requires no complex infrastructure, can operate in any location (including areas without stable power supply), and is easy to scale and relocate.
The company is seeking partners for commercial deployment and expansion of the network across Ukraine. - Advantages and Innovations
-
Night Tariff Optimization: The system charges at night when electricity is cheaper and discharges during the day for EV charging — saving up to 50% in costs;
- Autonomy: Can operate without connection to the centralized grid;
- Reliable LiFePO₄ battery technology with up to 6000 cycles (90% DOD);
- Modular container design with climate control, fire suppression, IP54 — ready for diverse conditions;
- Multi-source energy support (grid, solar, generator) with flexible switching logic;
- High scalability and mobility — can be relocated or networked;- Fast deployment of charging infrastructure without the need for complex approvals or network construction. - Stage of Development
